Eva Šlesingerová is Associate Professor in sociology at Department of Sociology/program Social Anthropology, Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University. She teaches courses of Contemporary Social Theory, Anthropology and Technology, Art in Research or Medical Anthropology. Eva´s primary research interest and expertise lies in the application of insights from sociology, social anthropology and science and technology studies (STS). Specifically, she uses perspectives from medical humanities or posthuman and more-than-human studies to the study of biotechnologies, artificial life, emotion AI, human-robot interactions and anthropology of outer space. As a Marie Curie-Skłodowska fellow, she was affiliated with Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main where she was a member of the research group Biotechnologies, Nature and Society. She is author of the book We, Other Utopians/ Recombinant DNA, Genome Editing, and Artificial Life (Routledge, 2022). Currently, Eva is Principal Investigator in EMOROB project (EXPRO(2023-2027/GX23-05692X) Robots, Computing the Human and Autism/ Cultural Imaginations of Autism Diagnosis and Emotion AI) _ https://emorob.fss.muni.cz/).
