Jiří Navrátil is an associate professor at the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Masaryk University, where he focuses on political sociology, social networks analysis (SNA) and methodology of social science research. His research interests include collective action and political protest (actors, dynamics, structure and determinants), economic conflict in the post-socialist context (comparison with other countries, role of trade unions), inter-organizational coordination (coalition formation and its determinants) and politics of memory (especially anti-communism). These topics are addressed both in his teaching and in national or international research projects and publications.
