Mgr. Marek Šebeš, PhD.
During his doctoral studies, Marek Šebeš began working as a dramaturg of documentary films on Czech Television. He was spending six years there (2005-2009) and helped to create with many Czech documentaries. He has been a lecturer at the Department of Social Sciences, Faculty of Education, the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice since 2009. He teaches subjects with sociological thematic as well as with media thematic for future elementary schools and high school teachers.
He is interested in the issue of media education, the role of the media in the lives of children and adolescents, the temporal aspects of media communication and the sociology of time. He has published in a series of collective monographs (Media Pedagogy: Media and Communication in Theory and Teaching Practice; Media Focused: Media Education as a Lifelong Learning Theme; Consumer Society and its Reflection in Teaching Social Sciences and Citizenship Education, etc.) and professional journals. For example, he deals with the issues of media and time in his essays called Time and Television: Four Aspects of the Time Organization of Television Broadcasting and Everyday Life and Media and Time in Our Daily Life.
