PhDr. Jaroslava Hasmanová Marhánková, PhD.

Jaroslava Hasmanová Marhánková completed her doctoral studies in sociology at FSS MU in 2011. Her dissertation called Activity as a Project: Discourses of active aging and their responses in the lives of Czech seniors and seniors were published in the Sociological Publishing House. She currently works as an assistant professor at the Department of Sociology of the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň, where she lectures courses on qualitative research methods, sociology of gender and life cycle. At the same time, she collaborates with non-profit organizations on projects focusing on the status of women and seniors in society. Her research focuses primarily on aging and gender issues. Since her graduation, she has been a member of several projects financed by the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic. Her current research project is dedicated to studying partner biographies at a later age.
