Doc. Mgr. Dan Ryšavý, Ph.D.

At the time of doctoral studies (he defended his dissertation called “Trust and Transformation” in 2002) he moved from Masaryk University to Palacký University in Olomouc. He has been a scientific secretary of the Department of Sociology, Andragogy and Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of Arts, Palacký University in Olomouc for many years. Since 2016 he has been Associate Professor of Sociology (habilitation called “Politics as a job”).

He deals mainly with quantitative research and data analysis. He is most interested in economic and political sociology. He primarily focuses on the research of local and regional actors (representatives, mayors, etc.). He appreciates the cooperation with the Local and Regional Studies team of the Institute of Sociology of the ASCR, v.v.i. Thanks to it, he has long been involved in international researches of local and regional authorities, which he is trying to enrich with domestic specifics. GA CZ repeatedly supported the presence of The Czech Republic in these comparative surveys. The readers could evaluate the results of the researches in the chapters of the collective monographs published by Springer VS and Routledge (2013, 2016), monographs published by the Sociological Publishing House (2011, 2015) or in the journals Local Government Studies, Journal of Legislative Studies, etc. More information: http://www.ksoc.upol.cz/katedra/clenove_katedry/Rysavy_Dan.html
