Mgr. Lucie Vidovićová, PhD. is a sociologist and social gerontologist. She is an assistant professor at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University, where she co-founded the working group CERA Centre for Research on Ageing. Since 2001 she has also been working with the RILSA Research Institute of Labour and Social Affairs. In 2023 she was elected President of the Research Committee on Ageing of the International Sociological Association (ISA RC11). She also serves as a member of the ISA's Advisory Body on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Her long-term research interests include the sociology of ageing, age discrimination, active ageing and social exclusion. She is also involved in research projects in the fields of environmental gerontology, social policy, labour market and family. She conducts research for national and European authorities and works as a consultant for a number of implementation projects. Lucie also works with various governmental and non-governmental organisations in the field of senior advocacy and in the field of science popularisation. Until 2020, she was the leader of the Spatial Exclusion Working Group within the European COST Action ROSEnet network. In the same year, she was appointed a member of the Committee on the Rights of the Older People at the Human Rights Council of the Government of the Czech Republic, which she currently chairs. At FSS MU she teaches courses in social gerontology, applied sociology, co-teaches a course in demography and a course in research methodology in hard-to-reach populations.
