Center for the Research of Ethnicity and Culture (CVEK) is an independent civic association that has been created in 2005 and is focused on research and analytical activities in the sphere of broadly understood culture and ethnicity. CVEK is contributing to expert activities and fostering of a expert dialogue in the sphere of minority issues, social exclusion, strengthening of a social cohesion, social construction of ethnic and cultural identity, race and ethnicity issues, and development of cultural activities and media space in Central European context.

Dept. of Sociology, FSS MU
The Sociology department offers a complete education in the discipline of sociology on three academic levels: Bachelor's degree (in Czech only), Master's degree (both in Czech and in English), and Ph.D. (both in Czech and in English). The Master's programme offered in English is open to graduates of Bachelor's or Master's programmes at other schools.
The Department puts a strong emphasis both on the methodological and theoretical preparation of its students. Apart from basic courses in sociology (including sociological theory, history of social thought, and methodology), the Department offers courses from various other related fields. These include civil society and public opinion, cultural changes in the globalization process, social problems (inequality, poverty, unemployment), and family and social aspects of demographic processes (mainly population and the needs of an aging society).
Faculty of Social Studies, MU
The Faculty of Social Studies was established in 1998 as an independent faculty under Masaryk University. The social sciences-oriented faculty’s independence is the result of the many years of existence of some branches within the Faculty of Arts that as early as in 1921 established Department of Sociology – today one of the oldest institutions of that kind in Europe. In 2005 the faculty moved to a just reconstructed building in Joštova Street that offered the students excellent conditions: a modern-layout library containing a superb choice of world publications, sufficient amount of personal computers in computer laboratories, specialised DTP studios and multimedia laboratories. Several rooms in students’ club also belong to the faculty. The glazed patio hall amazing with its layout and architecture design is a common place for social gatherings.
Masaryk University
Masaryk University, located in Brno, is the second biggest public university-type school in the Czech Republic and the first in Moravia region. Today, it houses nine faculties of more than 190 departments, institutes and clinics altogether. It is recognised one of the most significant institutions of education and research in the Czech Republic and a respected Central Europe university with democratic traditions advocated since its establishment in 1919. It is also a principal social and cultural player in the South Moravia region.

The Hungarian Europe Society, Budapest
As a non-governmental and non-partisan organisation, the Hungarian Europe Society intends to be involved in the ongoing international dialogue on the future of liberal democracies. The core of its interest and activities - although not exclusively - is the European Union and the Hungarian membership inside the Union. Its objective is to represent and promote the idea of a unifying Europe, and the European common values, in Hungary and abroad.
