Research interests

Eva Šlesingerová is an Assistant Professor in the Social Anthropology program. She lectures following subjects: Kinship and anthropology, Social and Cultural theory, Anthropology of Body and Medicine. She has focused primarily on three four different areas of research and academic interest: 1) sociology and anthropology of body, 2) sociology and anthropology of medicine and technology, 3) ethnic and national identities and 4) visual methodologies and topics. Currently she laborates social consequences of human DNA mapping and postgenomic technologies in the Czech medicine and phenomenon of the BioArt and artificial life as well.

Personal interests

Eva Šlesingerová likes music, especially ambient blues, rock. She likes also fairy stories, gardening and bees.
