Each year, Ined hosts around thirty PhD students enrolled in French or foreign universities and working in wide-ranging disciplines (demography, economics, geography, history, sociology, etc.).

We would be grateful if you could kindly display our call for applications on your premises for the attention of your post-graduate students.

In 2012-2013, Ined will offer 8 grants for PhD students :

of all nationalities
from any university
whatever their year of study (first to fourth year)
whatever their discipline (social sciences, economics, political science, etc)

Dear Colleagues,
please find enclosed the announcement for our course 'Mathematical Tools for Social Scientists'.

The course is designed to help bridging the gap between school-level mathematics and mathematical knowledge needed to understand advanced statistical data reduction techniques in depth. You will be introduced to (or invited to 'revisit') essentials of e.g. the algebra of vectors and matrices, solving linear equations etc. and then arrive at understanding the mathematical background of derivatives of matrix and vector functions, the geometry of linear regression and principal components.

Pod záštitou oboru Sociální antropologie FSS MU proběhne 18. května 2012 první „studentská antropologická konference“ v duchu nejlepších antropologických tradic nazývaná ANTROPOkonference. Jejím cílem je nabídnout studentům, kteří mají hlubší zájem o disciplínu sociální antropologie, možnost zkusit si formát akademického příspěvku na konferenci. Vítané jsou jakékoli příspěvky, které se i byť jen volně týkají sociální antropologie. Nebráníme se ani audiovizuálním projektům nebo skupinovým příspěvkům.
